Questions

There is nothing that can replace the feeling of security and safety a home provides.

If you have a question or need answers, we can help. Please give us a call today.

What can you do for me or my loved one?

We provide solutions to the issues that are preventing you from moving freely and safely around your home. We offer a free consultation to come into your home and assess which areas are affecting your abilities and provide suggestions and product options to improve them. We also offer fall prevention and home safety education with each consultation. *We do not provide physical therapy or medical services to our clients.

What is an Aging in Place Specialist?
A Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS) is someone who has been trained and certified in-home safety modifications through the National Home Builders Association. A CAPS professional understands how to address the individual safety concerns of seniors wishing to remain in the residence of their choice for as long as they wish.

Where do I begin?
You might have concerns or fears about how to help your parent and may not be sure where to start. By scheduling a free consultation with us we can help walk you through the process and help you understand what options are available. We'll work with you to find ways to keep your loved ones safe while respecting their wishes.

Is it safe for you to come to my home?
Yes, we follow the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) guidelines and wear personal protective equipment for in-home consultations. In some cases, we can even provide a video conference if requested.

How long will it take to finish a project/modification?
The time frame for the completion will depend on the complexity of the project.

How long does a home assessment take?
Typically, our thorough assessment can be completed in approximately 1 hour.

Do I need to prepare for you to come to my house?
No preparation is necessary. We only request that all individuals involved in the decision-making process be present at the time of the consultation.

Who provides the installation?
Skilled technicians will provide installation of the products that are recommended by our specialist.

What forms of payment do you accept? Do you take insurance?
We accept cash, check, or credit card as payment for our services. Insurance companies do not cover most home modifications. However, if you are a veteran some home modifications such as an exterior ramp can be covered by the Department of Veteran Affairs. We will work with you to provide as many funding options as possible that are appropriate for your situation including home equity loans and other community resources.

Are you a franchise?
No, we are an independent, locally-owned, and operated business serving Lake Norman and surrounding areas. We currently do not have a showroom. We operate as a mobile, in-home business.

Why should I choose your services? What do you have to offer?
We offer a unique perspective in our assessment as our founder has spent 20+ years working in the healthcare industry. Each consultation will not only provide you with modification recommendations, but we will take it one step further and provide training for the newly installed devices as well as safety and fall prevention education.

What is the benefit of changing my home? Why would this option be better than moving?
In some situations, moving from your home could be your best option. We will not recommend unrealistic modifications just to make a sale. The benefit is that you can maintain your freedom and independence in the home you love for as long as you would like to live there.
